Opelika Power Services scheduled a power outage for 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, while crews do primary reconductor work (replacing overhead power lines). The city says the work is meant to track down six separate outages that have been affecting homes and streetlights in the area, WRBL reported.
More than 100 customers and several streetlights are expected to lose power during the work. The affected locations are:
1600 block of Alpha Street; 1600 block of Belle Circle; 1400 and 1500 blocks of Bramble Lane; 2000, 2100 and 2200 blocks of Brock Drive; 1300, 1400, 1500 and 1700 blocks of Hidden Lakes Drive; 1600 block of Merle Circle; 1600 and 1700 blocks of Ridge Road; and the 1500 block of Westpoint Parkway.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding while our crews work to safely improve the reliability of our electric system,” Opelika Power Services said. Customers whose power has not come back after the work window can report it at 334-705-5170 or through the OPS SmartHub app.
