Around the region
Smiths Station picked up its first win of the season, 28-20 over Wetumpka at home, its highest point total of the year, according to MaxPreps. The Panthers open October at Enterprise.
Enterprise jumped out to a 24-0 first-quarter lead Thursday night and beat Andalusia 38-21 in the AHSAA TV Game of the Week, the Dothan Eagle reported. The same night, Carver-Montgomery was tied 21-21 with Class 5A Parker at halftime at the Cramton Bowl before Parker pulled away to win 41-21, per AL.com.
JAG lost 47-0 to Single A private Montgomery Academy at the Cramton Bowl. It was the first meeting between the two schools, according to the Montgomery Independent and the Montgomery Advertiser.

Valley remains unbeaten at 5-0 after rallying from a 16-0 first-quarter deficit to beat Russell County 24-23, per MaxPreps.
Lee-Scott nearly pulled even with Trinity Presbyterian late at Jud Scott Field. The Warriors scored with a little more than 30 seconds left to cut the deficit to two, but the two-point try came up a yard short, and Trinity held on 25-23. Tallassee won for the first time this season, holding off Booker T. Washington 34-30 behind senior quarterback Trent Morris, the Tallassee Tribune reported. Loachapoka improved to 4-1 with a shutout at Georgiana.
