EAMC Reaccredited as Alabama’s Only Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence

OPELIKA — Aug. 27, 2026

East Alabama Medical Center has earned reaccreditation as a Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence from the Surgical Review Corporation, keeping its distinction as the only hospital in Alabama to hold the designation.

The accreditation follows a review of the hospital’s standards for safety, quality and patient care in robotic procedures. EAMC first earned the recognition in 2023, when it became the second hospital in the state to be named a Robotic Center of Excellence by SRC.

The designation is based on nationally and internationally recognized benchmarks covering surgical volume, outcomes tracking and ongoing training.
