Construction Ready Class Graduates in Opelika as Alabama Faces 3,000 Open Construction Jobs

OPELIKA โ€” Aug. 20, 2026

Another class of the free Construction Ready pre-apprenticeship program has graduated in Opelika, where the training runs in partnership with Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers.

The 20-day course gives participants entry-level construction credentials including OSHA 10-hour training, first aid and CPR, forklift safety and flagging certification.

Organizers say demand for the graduates is strong: more than 3,000 construction jobs are open across Alabama right now, and several from this class are expected to work on data center projects in the Montgomery area.
