Auburn volleyball dropped the first two sets at Arkansas on Friday night, then won the next three to open Southeastern Conference play with a reverse sweep (21-25, 23-25, 28-26, 25-19, 15-9) at Barnhill Arena.
Belle Patrick had a career-high 29 kills, the second most by an Auburn player in the rally-scoring era (2001 to present), plus nine digs and two aces. Preseason All-SEC pick Lauren Dreves returned off the bench after missing seven matches with an illness and delivered the kill that saved an Arkansas match point in the third set, then closed out the fifth.
The win was Auburn’s first reverse sweep of the season and extended its winning streak to eight matches, the second longest under coach Brent Crouch. The Tigers are 1-0 in the SEC.
