AUBURN — Junior middle blocker Grace Havlicek was named Southeastern Conference defensive player of the week Monday after piling up 20 blocks in a 4-0 week for Auburn volleyball.
Havlicek, from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, had a season-high seven blocks in the Tigers’ 3-1 win at Florida State, then added six against UIC and five at DePaul in Chicago, plus two against Central Michigan and a season-high four digs. She averaged 1.43 blocks, 1.86 kills and 0.57 aces per set for 3.14 points per set on the week, with eight kills in three consecutive matches.
It is her second career SEC weekly award; she was named SEC freshman of the week on Sept. 30, 2024.
Auburn (7-2) plays at home for the first time this season at the Alabama Showdown, hosting UAB on Thursday at 6 p.m., then Samford on Saturday and South Alabama on Sunday.
