Auburn ROTC Marks 25 Years Since 9/11 With Friday Stair Climb at Jordan-Hare

AUBURN โ€” Auburn University’s ROTC programs will hold their annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Friday, Sept. 11, beginning at 6 a.m., this year marking the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

Participants climb stadium stairs in tribute to the firefighters and first responders who ascended the World Trade Center towers. Members of Auburn’s Army, Navy/Marine and Air Force ROTC units take part alongside local first responders, Auburn student-athletes and the Auburn Student Veterans Association.

Elsewhere, Elks lodges nationwide โ€” including the Auburn-Opelika lodge โ€” are holding Patriots Day ceremonies this week honoring the nearly 3,000 people killed on Sept. 11, 2001, and the first responders who died trying to save them.
