As many of you know, the writer of this Blog works full time for BroadView Software in Toronto.  We’ve got the 4th of July this week, and the Canadians have Canada Day on Monday, eh?  Those of us in the lower 48 will work as a regular day and grab on day off on Thursday  for Independence Day. Not that Opelika doesn’t have a few Canadians around town because we do. So to Jen, our… Read More

It was a good time to catch up with them and friend Redman, sit outside, discuss his grapes that are growing to make wine and relax. Lucky for me, there was more shrimp to eat… Read More

Parking in Opelika? Lock Your Doors!
A friend always questions me for not locking my doors on the truck or even rolling the windows up. Okay, you are right Redman, because tonight someone did get in the truck, check out the Glove box, that was left open on their departure. I guess the vandals are looking for specific stuff, because they left the $150 Sport coat in the front seat. Gone, a bag of Canadian change from my last several trips!… Read More
Jody Talks About Dad
I’ve written about my Dad here for Father’s Day, but thought that Jody Fuller’s column in the Observer this week might be worth sharing instead: From Jody… Itâs often been said that anyone can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad. My dad was a real man, and I donât mean just because he had a mustache. Before losing his eyesight to diabetes in 1974, he was a barber. Since thereâs little… Read More
