Today is the 27th anniversary of the Challenger explosion. At the time, I (Jerry Katz) was in the 117 TCS, an Air National Guard unit at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia. Our computer tech came over the loudspeaker and told of the explosion and ushered us outside, where we saw the smoke trails in the sky.
