So , I have a friend on the road traveling in Europe this week. Why the heck didn’t I get to make the trip. I’ve got some pictures, so I thought I’d see if you folks can ID the ones from around the world, like you can around the town. Got any ideas on this one. Let’s see, some hints, Delta now has non-stop service to this town that I’d love to visit. Now, why would… Read More

A New Project for Site Visitors – James Lee Clothing
You may remember a few months ago, we had some pictures of a downtown Opelika Business and got comments from folks about that downtown Opelika Storre. Here was that post! Well, here’s this weeks project picture. I’ll have more about this before Monday, but wanted to get this up for you to check out! Well , Henry had made the comment on Sunday afternoon to notice the parking meters. I had asked Redman about meter’s… Read More
Saturday Night – Jamie Randolph Plus The Bridges at 8th & Rail
I think that it’s Jamie’s first visit to 8th & Rail. Rock-n-roll, blues, and barbecue, this is Memphis to you, me, everybody. You would think that every Memphis musician spent his infant years rocking ever-so-soulfully on the back beat of a bar-playing blues hound. Don’t fall prey to the hype. Jamie Randolph had his beginnings in the cozy suburbs of the big city under the watchful eyes of his supportive parents and the Church. Think… Read More
Layman Arts Benefit at 8th & Rail on Friday (July 27th)

Friday Night at 8th & Rail is a benefit for Layman Arts. You’ll probably find this to be a night like none other at the Tavern. There’s a silent auction, plus the entertainment will probably run the gamit from song to improv! Should be a fin night. It all starts at 7PM!

Some Website Fixes
Well, I’ve got the calendar working at the right time now. Sorry, but it was off and I didn’t know until told by a friend at the Guard Breakfast in Dothan this past weekend. It’s in Military time, which I should be able to switch to a 12 hour clock after some research.

Buy Local – Buy Fresh – Buy Tuesday
I bought a can of peaches at the grocery store the other day. They were from Greece and Packed in Southeast Asia. CNN has been doing a recent story about how hard it would be to get food that’s not from outside the US. Well, the cure for this disease is to shop the Local Farmer’s Market downtown on Railroad Avenue on Tuesday. I suspect they won’t have produce from Greece, but that’s okay, right?… Read More
