Everyone’s Got the Crud!
I started getting sick on my birthday . It’s been about three weeks and I’ve got what I call the crud. Dr. Patton calls it bronchitis. Now, I don’t know much about medicine, but he gave me a prescription for Doxycycline. I was reading the information from the “Patient Prescription Information” sheet from CVS. Now this has got to be good stuff because it’s also used to prevent Malaria. It’s also good for acne! Got to… Read More
So Long Winter
Well, I suspect the Dark Winter Party at Fukai Manor will be enough to chase away what may remain of winter. I did get some pictures and will post an album here in the next day or so, but I thought I’d introduce you to the Lady of the Manor. Great Party Lyndsay and Hiro!  From the Archives — originally published on the Opelika Daily News on February 26, 2007. Opelika High Theatre Presents “Into The Woods”
I saw Revel for about 4 minutes as he dropped a bottle of wine by Fukai Manor on Saturday, only to offer his regrets of not being able to stay and play. For there was much work to be done for the latest production of the Opelika High School Theatre Groups production that opens this weekend, for a two weekend run. If you don’t know the story here’s a quick overview: Into the Woods combines… Read More

Fukai Manor Chases Away Winter This Weekend!
I can honestly say the last time I wore a Tux was at daughter Jenny’s wedding. But, this weekend a party at Opelika’s Fukai Manor will have me dawn somewhat vampire like formal attire for the evening. It would be Lyndsay & Hiro’s First Annual Dark Winter Cocktail Opelika Affair. I understand there has been an Auburn event like this for years in the past! I just hope I can find my way home… Read More

Barbara Keel’s “My Back Yard” Booking Signing at Heritage Gifts & Canine American
Barbara Keel is an author and artist.  Her most recent book, â My Back Yard â is the story of a little girl growing up in Opelika in the 1950âs. Unfortunately for me, I didnât have that experience, growing up in another small town in Georgia, but I suspect itâs much the same. Oh yea, plus I didnât grow up as a Young Girl! I got this book overview from Barbaraâs website â âWith… Read More
