Friday & The Weekend

Let’s see… Eighth & Rail is still closed for Spring Break until Tuesday, when the Star Songwriter Series returns.  Click the link to see what’s going on.  We’re doing Friday Fellowship at 5 on the Porch.  Come & Leave Early. It’s a 120 minute event today (5P-7P)!  Saturday, come on out to Big Swamp Harley-Davidson and maybe win a new bike.  The Lee County Red Cross is giving it away.  I know a few folks at bought… Read More

Sitting at the Bar? You should be 21! (I’m on the Soapbox)

With all the goofy rules about alcohol in the State of Alabama (ABC Stores, No Out of State Wine Shipments to home addresses, No High alcohol Specialty Beer), why do we allow kids to sit at bars in the state. The dogwoods and azalea’s are just about the burst.  It’s sponsored by the Opelika/Auburn Jaycees. The City of Opelika website says this of the event: Opelika’s Azalea and… Read More

I had actually posted this several weeks ago, only to discover I had caught a preview of the site, up before the official posting. The type seems to be bigger. Guess some of the guys at the… Read More

Spring Break in Opelika/Auburn

I guess different parts of the country take this traditional break from school at several weeks around this time of year.  But for us, it’s this week.  This would be a time to grab a bite at an Auburn resturant, because everyone is out of town.  The locals like this and other holiday’s to visit some night spots we don’t on a regular basis. Some leave town, and other’s don’t.  Like Amber and Jennifer will… Read More
