With the roof replacment project complete I thought I’d bring out the Before & After Photos one more time. The old rusty tin roof is the before shot. I have a series of shots of the project, but plan to hold them to show after the house painting begins. Actually, Chris Bulloch begins work on that today, as the roofers are gone. Rain in the Sunday weather report, but next week should be nice. From… Read More
Got the new gas fireplace in several weeks ago, so I thought I’d grab a picture. It’s gas (I know, but someone has to help pay the salaries of those Alagasco folks) and looks like an old Coal Bin. The remote control start is my favorite feature.

I found this review of Brad’s latest CD “Set Up for Failure” – Brad has a Matt Nathanson, John Mayer feel to his songs. An acoustic rock album that knows how to hit the heart. Brad has shared the stage with Universal’s Matt Nathanson and Seth Horan formerly of Vertical Horizon. This album is worth checking out. I got the feeling that Brad is the epitome of the “man and his guitar” types. I would… Read More

Truth or fantasy. Concise or poetic. Reality or the artistās life. Whoever said, ānever the twain shall meetā clearly has never met Beau Bristow. Beau comes to the music scene crossing the barriers of conventional thought to take a deeper look into the definite complexity of life. In reality black and white is rarely found without other shades to challenge their simplicity. Somewhere in the grey, it is easy to lose touch with the basic… Read More
Eighth & Rail tapped the first keg of Sweetwater 420 tonight! And guess who got the first pint glass or two? Yea, it was me!! Learn more about this pretty cool Atlanta brewery by clicking the picture below!! It’s kinda of funny, if you look at the pic above. The line about promoting quality over quanity. I discovered it’s true. The local distributor probably could sell more Sweetwater, but the brewery is more concerned about… Read More
Okay, so several things going on with the Roof Project. Lot’s of replacement Tounge & Groove going in. I suspect that the final cost of this project will be up a few dollars. I got to say, John is doing One Heck of a Job. I’ve been taking pictures this past week, so I’ve got some good before & after to show when it’s all done. Could be by weeks end. This was more than… Read More
If youāre a real regular to Outback Steakhouse in Opelika, or go in on a somewhat regular basis, youāll be sorry to hear of the departure of Bob Ornowski, the local proprietor as he makes the move to Columbus, Georgia for a new store for him and opportunity to grow in the Outback organization. If you plan to say goodbye, you may have to hurry by, because he could be gone by February 1st. The… Read More
I was going to add some commentary to this post. I suspect I should, and will in coming days. Here’s the proposed City Ordinance on Not Smoking in Opelika. I suspect it’s a bit broader than most would suspect, and raises some questions that should be asked of City Council next week before a vote. Let’s take a place like “Wayne’s All American Grill” or God Help Me “Jackie Lee’s” (Not that you’ll find me… Read More
