Wednesday, the floats begin to lineup for the parade between 6th Street and 9th Street on Avenues C,D and E. Uh, that’s in front of my house!! After 2PM on Wednesday, local residents, my neighbors, are asked not to park on the street. More after the parade. Oh yea, the parade starts at 4PM, with the lighting of the City Christmas Tree at the end of the event. The parade was the typical small town… Read More

Atlanta’s Sweetwater 420 comes to Alabama
Well, for those of us that love beer, and have been to Atlanta, we know Sweetwater Brewery! Well, 2006 is the year that Sweetwater makes it’s debut in Alabama. Only a select few spots will have it on tap, and then in bottles early in the year. Well, Eighth & Rail is one of those places! Uh-Rah!! The Bermuda Triangle
Okay, we all knew that when NBC bought the SciFi Channel we’d see some cross promotion. Heck, we’ve seen it with the networks Prime Time show “Lost”. So this past weekend, Lester Holt, who I watch more on MSNBC, since I don’t have local channels, premiered as the host of a new show on SciFi that is looking at the Triangle and the strange things that go on there. Oddly enough (okay, not so oddly… Read More
Cards to Iraq…

I was glad to post it, since I’ve been on deployment and understand how nice it is to hear from other’s overseas, no matter our general opinion of the mission. It’s all about the people, after all. Well, today, I get this link from Polly on her story in the… Read More

Too Much Time on My Hands…
As is typical, on a Holiday Weekend, I find myself going thru old stuff to try and clean up a few things. I ran accross this photo of me at WSGA in 1969 prior to my departure for the Naval Reserve I suspect, based on the haircut, or as some night say, the Lack Of Haircut. And where’s the Grey? Of course, then I had to go and check out the old Goodtimer Web Site… Read More

Bama’s Back – Not! SI Fake Cover!
Just to make sure the suffering isn’t over for the 2005 Iron Bowl loss of Bama to Auburn, this front cover to remember, even if it never made it to newsstands.

Top Hat Chimney Sweeps to the Rescue…
So, Jeff came down the street to fix the several years of not using the fireplace. The 20 gallon bag was able to hold the buildup of stuff in the stack since it was last used 10 or so years ago. The plan calls for some gas logs (coal box) to be installed in coming weeks. So, with the high cost of natural gas, is that wise. Jeff says, the current (note that is today’s)… Read More
