Well, Opelika kids will be hitting the streets from 5P-8PM going for some goodies this Halloween night. Being somewhat the Grinch that Stole Halloween, Redman, The Governor, me and others will have darkened our houses, hidden the cars and headed over to Outback from 5P-8PM. Happy Halloween! Well, it’s also Monday Night Football after all. A time we all go to enjoy the game. And sometimes, we stay late enough to even watch it. TJ… Read More

Opelika Parks & Rec Trail of Terror!
So I headed out to the Trail of Terror with a friend and her son along that really twisitng road to Spring Villa on Saturday Night. After the two hour wait to get into the Haunted Spring Villa, we did the quick run thru the old haunted house and got to the actual trail of Terror, which was the most fun. It’s a shame that the folks didn’t spend more time talking about the actual… Read More
Picnic â A Review of the OHSÂ Performance
Several of the Fellowship Loyal were traveling this weekend, so Redman and I were the only ones that made it out to the opening performance of “Picnic” at the Performing Arts Center in Opelika. I had met Anais Piasketes, who played the role of Madge Owen, the “Beautiful Girl” as the dialogue presented her throughout the evening. She and Tilyn Butler stopped by On the Tracks, and I think I promised to bring 500 folks… Read More

Old Downtown Pics
Tom Penton, the just retired Executive Director of Envision Opelika spoke at the Opelika Historic Presevation Society Open Meeting last week. He talked about downtown and passed around this picture of the Old Farmer’s Bank on Avenue A at 8th Street. Most/All of the buildings behind the bank are gone. Got any idea of what they were? Make a comment. The photo is from the archives at Auburn University. Thanks for sharing! From the Archives… Read More
Waiting â The Movie
Checked out this very funny movie on Sunday! Okay, if you have a problem with movies that use the “F” word a lot (Uh, Not Fire Truck), then you should stay away from this one. But, if you’ve worked in a resturant, where that word is used from time to time (but only in the kitchen, I suspect), then check out this very funny movie! It was nice to see some of my local resturant… Read More

It seems to happen to me every month. The mail get delivered earlier on Saturday for some reason. There it is – the newest issue of Wired Magazine!
