Redman brought a couple of past issues of “The Auburn Circle” by the house over the weekend. He’s lucky enough to have some of the original early issues of this magazine financed by student activity fees back then. The drawing above is from the third year edition of the magazine, Volume 3, Number 2 in fact and has an interesting article about the old Martin Theater in downtown Opelika that has long gone under the… Read More

Back to Work â Rainy Days &Â Tuesdays
It was a good day to be in the office. My gosh, where’s all the rain coming from? All day long and well into this evening post. This has been one of those weather events that Direct TV doesn’t like. Since my dish is pointing thru a very small hole in the trees, the sagging limbs under the weight of the water is playing havoc with my reception. It’s good that I’ve gone wild and… Read More
Holiday Weekend â Day 3 &Â 4
Memorial Day ’05 – Day 3 – Another grilling on Sunday night at the Patton House accross street. The night ended with some drinking games, which makes me glad I just have to walk accross street to get home. Thank goodness, noone had a camera for this event. Memorial Day ’05 – Day 4 – Slept late again. But you probably figured I would from the post earlier. Ran over to Home Depot to dream… Read More
Holiday Weekend â Day Two â Plus Some Family Weekends Catch Up!
Another one of those 9AM Wake Up’s. Good Fellowship last night and a Blue Light Special Show in front of The Rail. Got out a remaining half gallon of primer and did some work in the house. Just a little trim work in the middle room (like Middle Earth) and I can move to the room with the fireplace. Just got a chance to grab some pictures that Jenny sent from Graduation weekend with Jess… Read More
Vacations are about Sleeping Late
Up at the crack of 9AM this morning. Want to finish up the dining room today and prepare for Fellowship this evening. The Catfish slammed the Crawdads last night 10-1. Thanks to Danny & Ginger for the Box Seat Tickets to Golden Park. A great time was had by all.

Memorial Day Weekend â 4 Days Off!!
Going to get an early start on the holiday weekend by taking off a few hours today and all day on Friday. This is one of the slow weeks for my department, so I’ll take advantage of being off and not getting behind. It’s off to Columbus tonight for the Catfish game! Then I plan some work around the house as I lay low for the weekend. Some things about the weekend, Here’s the history… Read More
What a Nice Night! & Some Hyundai Stuff!
It’s 69 degrees outside tonight. A great place to sit on the porch and reflect on the day and coming week. I did have a few things to post, but will catch up later in the week. Bryan, Randell’s son picked up a medal in the Special Olympics this past weekend in Auburn. I took a picture today, but as it turn out, it didn’t turn out, so I’ll try again on Wednesday. Grabbed some… Read More
Kidd Blue at Summer Swing â Tuesday Night 5/24!
Kidd Blue – A true Lee County original. Formed in 1985 as an off shoot of Robert Orrâs jazz ensemble called âOff Rampâ, Kidd Blue and the Blues Kings began wowing audiences as the house band at Denaroâs on Toomers Corner. Twenty years later, Kidd Blue continues to fill dance floors from Destin to Chattanooga. Their electic mix of horn-driven Motown, Soul, R & B, Rock nâ Roll and 80âs favorites is enjoyed by audiences… Read More
Jedi Cat â It’s Pete the CatâŚ
After my posting of “Wally the Wonderdog” today , Jimmy (while scarfing down lots of boiled shrimp that he cooked up for a few of us at dinner) made the comment I should support local artist on my site and not some guy far away. Okay, I like Wally, so when I get a newsletter, I’ll probably post his latest, but, my real Favorite is “Pete the Cat!” After spending some time on his website… Read More

Fun Atlanta Weekend Comes to EndâŚ
It’s been quite the family weekends. Last weekend, youngest Daughter Jessica graduates from Columbus State University and then off for the Decatur School of Ballet 2005 Annual Performance this weekend. Okay, it was a dance recital. Eldest Daughter Jenny was taking the stage for this one. She was part of a large Tap Group and they were great. Afterwards, off to Jocks & Jills downtown at 10th & Peachtree for more menu items not on… Read More
