Haley McCain is opening Written in the Stars Romance Bookstore in Auburn — only the second romance-only bookstore in Alabama, according to the Observer.
The store will carry romance exclusively, and McCain says she wants it to be a judgment-free room: “I really want to create a space that women and men, anyone who enjoys the genre, can go and feel comfortable walking up to a bookcase and look for what they want without feeling judged.” She also plans after-hours events, trivia nights and eventually a cafe with hand-crafted drinks.
The bookstore is taking over the old Ross Coffee House space and is in renovation now, with an opening targeted for September, though not yet confirmed.
