Weekend Update & Looking Ahead to Christmas

Looking AheadSo Bill & Gwen couldn’t believe I was at the coffee shop when they arrived on Saturday about 9AM.  Actually, Hiro and Lindsay were surprised when I arrived at 8:45AM at Red Door June.  Okay, so normally, I wouldn’t make the early coffee call as I sleep in on Saturday.  Redman and I headed over to Auburn and Mellow Mushroom for lunch.  It’s always good to see Jill and the gang.  My trips over are normally during the Holidays and Summer when the student population is small.  Good to catch up on stuff and congrats to Jill on getting married this past November.

The official start of Winter (aka Winter Solstice) is Sunday.  Many hold this as the official start of springinstead of winter, as the days will get longer from now thru the summer. I’ll buy that version of the story.  Auburn fans wanting to catch some real football should have caught the R & L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on ESPN.  Grabbed some gumbo with Jim, Red, Lautrec and Mona for the game on Sunday.  Southern Miss wins the game with a blocked field goal in the first overtime of the game.  The Troy Kicker could have been a bit more graceful about the loss.  You hate to see a player of the loosing team act that way on national TV.   The rest of the week is probaby just stuff on your calendar.  Adam Hood is over at Eighth and Rail on Christmas Night and Friday Night. Lots of Opelika folks in town for the holiday and out at The Rail for an annual event.
