Southern Union State Community College is running noncredit real estate licensing courses this fall at its Opelika campus, aimed both at people entering the profession and at newly licensed salespeople finishing Alabama’s post-license requirement.
The 60-hour Real Estate Pre-License course covers agency relationships and contracts, property ownership, finance, valuation, conveyance, marketing regulations, property management and real estate math, and prepares students for the state salesperson licensing exam. It meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Sept. 9 through Nov. 18. Cost is $776.
The 30-hour Real Estate Post-License course is for salespeople moving from a temporary to a permanent license, with instruction in business planning, client management, listings, marketing, negotiation, transaction coordination, closings, risk management and Alabama’s legal and ethical requirements. It meets Tuesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Sept. 8 through Nov. 10, for $388.
Details and registration are available through Southern Union’s workforce development office.
