Seohan Auto USA to Invest $64 Million in Third Auburn Plant, Adding About 70 Jobs

AUBURN — Seohan Auto USA, the North American manufacturing arm of South Korea-based Seohan Group, plans to invest $64 million to expand its Auburn operations with a third plant, the City of Auburn announced.

The new Plant III, in the Auburn Technology Park West Annex II, will increase the company’s capacity for machining, assembly and warehousing. Seohan Auto expects to add roughly 70 jobs in the Auburn market over the next three years.

Seohan Auto USA manufactures suspension and chassis components for global automakers including Hyundai Motor and Kia. “Our new facility in the Auburn Technology Park West Annex II will allow us to increase our production capacity in Auburn and organize our logistic processes more efficiently,” Seohan Auto President Myon Han said.

Mayor Ron Anders noted the company has operated in Auburn for nearly 20 years. The announcement was reported locally by the Opelika Observer and the City of Auburn.
