Remembering Guy Hunt

The Huntsville  Times said this of Guy Hunt. “Former Gov. Guy Hunt was remembered Friday as a man who understood the importance of Madison County to the rest of the state and once joked that every trip he made to Huntsville cost him $1 million for public projects.”   Hunt, whose “fluke” election as a Republican governor in 1986 was viewed as helping turn Alabama into a two-party state, died Friday afternoon. He was 75.  But Hunt didn’t only travel north in the state. From time to time, it was to the Opelika area.  And why am I not surprised to see who’s at his right hand.  Our buddy Redman!
