From Jennifer at the Red Cross… Give Blood Save Lives – Did you know that giving 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives? Every 2 seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion. Today the life of a child with sickle cell disease, a young mother giving birth, a grandfather having heart surgery or a next door neighbor battling cancer could depend on precious, donated blood. There is no substitute for your blood donation. The simple gift of a blood donation must come from a blood donor, someone like you who is willing to take just a few minutes to donate.
