Auburn Area Community TheatreGot a note from  Andrea Holmes with the Auburn Area Community Theater. Open Auditions for “Steel Magnolias” will be held January 6th and 7th from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center in Auburn. No experience is necessary, and no prepared readings are required. We love to meet new people!  Auditioners can drop in either or both nights. Anyone interested in sets, props or other aspects of production are also invited, and will be greeted enthusiastically!

“Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling, is being  presented by Auburn Area Community Theatre.  Set in Truvy’s Beauty Salon, “Steel Magnolias” is the beloved comedy-drama that follows the lives of 6 women: M’Lynn, and her strong-willed daughter Shelby, eccentric Clairee,  cranky Ouiser, sassy Truvy, and her young ‘Glamour Technician’  Annelle.  It is a warm and witty celebration of friendship, and the Southern Belles; flowery on the outside, but strong enough inside to survive any challenge. Call Director Steve Bice at 332-2620 or visit their website at www.auburnact.org for information.

The production is scheduled March 27, 28, & 29 and April 2, 3, & 4 at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center.
