Opelika’s South 8th Street

The Little Street that Could… Work continues on the doctor’s house just two doors down from my place. To get an idea of the scope of the project, the yellow house is the original structure and most of the darker color is the addition to this Historic Treasure downtown. I think my house is the size of his garage. The original plans called for this to be done by the end of March. Electrical has been done, along with insulation, with drywall going up now. Sorry, it’s not a great picture, but it’s a bit dull and dreary in Opelika today. I thought I grab some pictures from downtown, but will wait for next week. Work continues on a new downtown shop center and some new paint and doors have added a new look to some Railroad Avenue stores.

Sharma House Under Construction

To give you the idea of this house and mine, I’ve included the picture below. The house above is to the left in the picture (below) and that’s my little place on the right.

And while we’re taking the tour… The office across street is getting a new look as well. They’re putting on a primer coat of paint now. That’s the old Adams Construction Office on the left and Richard & Mary’s home on the right.
