“Opelika Talk Like a Pirate Day” Planning

Opelika Talk Like A Pirate Day I was talked into cleaning a friends garage today, but was paid with beer and wings at Outback, so it was okay. As normally happens with that combination (beer & wings, not the garage cleaning) we got to talking about things. Tonights thing was “International Talk Like A Pirate Day”, and we thought about planning the first annual celebration in Opelika. We didn’t know when it was, but hoped it was more than a few weeks out. We’re in luck, as the actual holiday (if you can call it that) is Sept 19th. Jim thought a Pirate Pancake Breakfast would be fun, and I was thinking about a “Best Pirate Talker Contest”. Maybe a parade in Opelika and A Giant Pirate Ship that we can drag in front of an oncoming train. If you’ve got an idea, just register and make a comment. We’ve got time to work on this, just over 150 days, so let me know what you think.
