Opelika Quiet After Snow

012914 Opelika Snow 03It’s very quiet this morning, as folks are just staying in due to icy conditions on the road.   Opelika finally got some snow for a few hours as the final trailing edge of the storm passed thru near 8 PM last night. City and County offices are closed and the Sherrif’s Department is urging motorist to stay off the roads. In the last three hours only one car has ventured down South 8th Street and I understand you probably don’t want to drive down the hill on 9th at the tracks, or should I say slide down it. Most, if not all downtown resturants have cancelled plans for lunch and are waiting on the weather for evening plans.
