Opelika CRS Parent Consultant Sharonica Turner Graduates from Partners in Policymaking

May 2026 — Opelika, AL

Sharonica Turner, a Parent Consultant with Opelika Children’s Rehabilitation Service (CRS), recently graduated from the Partners in Policymaking Alabama (PIPA) program in Prattville. She also earned the Most Supportive Award, voted on by her fellow PIPA participants.

Turner said winning the award meant a great deal because it symbolized “the growth, perseverance and heart” she brings to her work every day serving families of children with disabilities. PIPA is an 8-month statewide leadership program designed to develop community advocates in the field of disability policy. The Observer featured her story this week.
