July 7, 2026 — Opelika, Alabama

At its July 7 meeting, the Opelika City Council approved a pair of major road projects totaling $7.6 million. The council greenlit a $2.82 million bid from AGX Siteworx to grade, drain, base, and pave Hi-Pack Drive, and a $3.34 million bid from the same contractor for the Mill Village Roundabout and Roadway Improvement Project at the Cunningham Drive and North 30th Street intersection.

Additional consent agenda items included a $26,500 proposal from Hydro Engineering. The council also approved tax abatements for BS Logistics America and Yongsan Automotive USA, supporting two new industrial expansions.

The road investments reflect the city’s continued commitment to infrastructure improvements that support Opelika’s growing industrial and residential base.
