One Man’s Lincoln

The Tourism Council of Bullock County is proud to present a special, one-night-only performance of “One Man’s Lincoln.” Friday, March 13th at 7:30PM at the Red Door Theater in Union Springs, AL.  Bullock County’s Dr. Wade Hall was commissioned by the Kentucky Humanities Council to adapt for stage a book written by Billy Herndon, Lincoln’s law partner. The play has been featured as an official activity of the Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commision in recognition of Lincoln’s 200-year birthday celebration in 2009.

This critically acclaimed one-man production about Abraham Lincoln is from the viewpoint of Mr. Herndon, his law partner in Springfield, Illinois. The character of Billy Herdon presents a spellbinding monologue of the “evidence” on Lincoln as if he were in court. Outspoken and controversial, he attempts to decipher Lincoln’s greatness and complexity, while offering a compelling look at his humanity. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
