No. 11 Alabama Edges Auburn 1-0 in the Iron Bowl of Soccer, Ending the Tigers’ Unbeaten Run

September 11, 2026 — Auburn, AL

Auburn’s soccer team dropped its Southeastern Conference opener to No. 11 Alabama, 1-0, on Friday night in front of a crowd of 2,319 — the second-largest in the history of the Auburn Soccer Complex.

Kennedy Garcia scored the only goal in the 33rd minute, and Alabama goalkeeper Madi Munguia made five saves for the shutout. The loss was Auburn’s first of the season after the Tigers became just the fourth team in program history to go unbeaten through seven matches.
