Nick Ammirati Hired as Auburn Baseball Hitting Coordinator from Georgia

July 14, 2026 — Auburn, Alabama

Auburn baseball and head coach Butch Thompson announced the addition of Nick Ammirati as the program’s assistant coach and hitting coordinator on July 14. Ammirati comes to the Plains from Georgia, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to their first College World Series in 18 seasons.

He replaces Gabe Gross, who stepped down from his associate head coach role after nine seasons to take a new position within Auburn Athletics. During the 2025 season under Ammirati’s coaching, Georgia led the nation in home runs with 144 across 60 games.
