Korean automotive electronic system supplier DUCK IL USA (DIA) announced plans to invest approximately $21 million to upgrade and expand its facility at Auburn Technology Park West. The investment will establish a clean-room manufacturing operation producing electronic system components for the automotive industry.
DIA’s products include electronic switches to adjust car seats, various dashboard controls, and interior lighting packages — components found in vehicles from Chrysler, GM, Hyundai, Kia, and Tesla. The first phase of the expansion is expected to create more than 20 full-time jobs in the Auburn-Opelika area.
“This investment in Auburn will create a high-tech manufacturing operation of electronic system components for the automotive industry, and in this first phase, more than 20 individuals will find a job in our community,” said Auburn Mayor Ron Anders.
The announcement continues a wave of significant manufacturing investment in the Auburn-Opelika metro region, which has attracted multiple international and domestic manufacturers in recent years.
