MONTGOMERY — Aug. 27, 2026
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Doug Jones renewed his call for a debate with Republican opponent Tommy Tuberville during the eighth stop of his statewide town hall series, after an independent voter raised the question.
“If you’ve been studying them and you think you know about them, let’s just debate on data centers, Tommy,” Jones said. “Come on, stand up, come to the next town hall I have, and let’s just debate data centers.”
Tuberville ruled out a debate the following day, saying he would not meet Jones because the two would not agree on anything. No debate has been scheduled.
