I thought I would look back on what I hoped for 2014 before venturing a guess into 2015. A planned Social Media convention in San Diego didn’t work out and the Spring Talladega race didn’t make it into my camping routine for the year either. As a matter of fact, I don’t think I really accomplished many of the half a dozen goals I set for myself. Not to say it was a bad year. Work is good, I’m healthy and only added a few pounds back after getting that big chunk off. I find I have a great group of friends and will try to learn all their names this year. I’ve met some new and interesting people the past several months and hope to grow my knowledge base in several areas.
I’ll be spending more time downtown in the coming months. My big social experiment is to work in an office again. A place with people! Everyone that I’ve talked with, who works from home, has said if they had found an affordable alternative, they would have done what I plan to do. You’ll be reading a lot about that as I form my new work routine.
Atlanta Motor Speedway is doing their one race early in March this year and I’ll catch the fall race a Talladega. The Las Vegas National Association of Broadcasters convention in April is also on the travel schedule. A midsummer flight to Toronto for a week in the Mothership will break up the summer for me.
I plan to use my kitchen more this year. Something for more than storing dirty dishes in the sink or winter sweaters in the oven. I plan to wash a load of clothes only one time then move them to the dryer all in the same day. Not sure I can count the times I had to rewash a load I left to sour. Don’t tell the downtown eateries, but I’m planning on more meals at home. Now that’s not to say I won’t stop in for drinks after work with friends or an occasional wing or sushi. But I want to cut down on those late nights. There are several shows on TV that I am behind on and want to play catch up.
When I look back at this post in a year as I prepare for the 2016 Update, I hope I I’ve met some of my new goals. I hope I’m smarter and that I’ve hit the lottery and have become very rich! Happy New Year Everyone – Welcome to 2015.
