Hattie B’s Nashville Hot Chicken Opens at Historic Tiger Theater Site in Auburn

July 16, 2026 — Auburn, Alabama

Nashville-based restaurant chain Hattie B’s Hot Chicken officially opened its doors at 121 N. College St. in downtown Auburn on Thursday, July 16 — in the building that once housed the beloved Tiger Theater.

The new Auburn location was brought to the Plains by a father-son team of Auburn alumni who partnered with the family-owned Hattie B’s brand. Founded in Nashville in 2012, Hattie B’s is known for its crispy fried chicken, bold flavors, and emphasis on quality and value.

The Auburn location marks the brand’s third location in Alabama. The prominent downtown spot — directly across from Toomer’s Drugs on College Street — is expected to attract significant foot traffic, particularly during football season.

Owners cited Auburn fans’ enthusiasm and the value-focused dining culture as key reasons for bringing the brand to town. The restaurant offers a range of heat levels from “Southern” (no heat) to “Shut the Cluck Up!!!” for adventurous diners.
