OPELIKA — Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church is putting a new spin on the church fundraiser this month: instead of one big sale, members, ministries, staff and leaders will each set up their own booth at a churchwide yard sale on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Clarinda Jones-Turner, executive director of the Greater Peace Community Development Corporation, told the Opelika Observer the format gives shoppers several yard sales in one place — and lets member sellers keep their own proceeds.
