Golesh Likes What He Saw in Auburn’s Second and Final Fall Scrimmage

AUBURN — Aug. 20, 2026

Auburn head coach Alex Golesh struck a very different tone after the Tigers’ second fall scrimmage Wednesday inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, calling the work “really good stuff” after criticizing the team’s tackling and sloppiness following the first scrimmage on Aug. 14.

The scrimmage ran slightly fewer plays than the first and was the last of fall camp before Auburn moves into mock game week. Golesh said tackling was markedly better and that the roster’s remaining needs came into clearer focus, with the staff shuffling personnel — moving Bryce Cain to cornerback, for one — to shore up thin spots.
