First Friday – Yep, That Time Again

Downtown Opelika Alabama Oct 2013Every month right about now buddy Redman and I start sending text messages to Pam, Director of Opelika Mian Street asking when First Friday is. Normally, we do that on Saturday morning after the event, but I did it today just for the heck of it. I’m sure her responce of “It was yesterday” was just to throw me off. Business open late and lots of great places to eat in downtown Opelika! Come On Down, Y’all!

Build It and the People Will Come!

You can always make someone happy when leaving a downtown parking space when you alert the driver coming down the street it’s coming available. Much the case for me Friday Night.  I understand the Pub had a 35 minute wait and Jimmy’s was an hour about 8 PM.  Lots of folks walking downtown in perfect weather for the Friday Night Event. (Picture Above from about 8 PM in front of Eighth & Rail! (Post Update at 8:10 PM)  PS – Thanks for the compliment on the Opelika Daily News. It’s always fun to meet freinds and others downtown Opelika! ~ Jerry
