I believe we had a point where six or so separate conversations were going on… I new term I hadn’t heard yet for this type of gathering was a “Porch Beer Gathering”. It seemed to fit the group, although I did notice we certainly did justice to my Red Wine stash as well. I suspect that means that a sea captain must always have his port! Right Captain? Aarrgghhh! I kind of laughed this morning after getting an IM from Kim in Chicago, who had walked to work thru snow on Friday. As you can see by our clothes below, our weather in the South was much nicer. By the way, Kim (our trainer from Brainerd) has started her own Blog, which can be found at www.kimkay.com. Before long she’s bound to tell that “Neighbor and Weigh” story on me. And if you are wondering why Jason (Blue Shirt with Red Writing) is smiling so big, it’s because he’s left his truck (dead battery and all) with the George Bush sticker parked in from of my house for weeks. Payback for that Kerry sticker I had no doubt. By the way, if you’d like to have the truck, just come by and haul it off. I didn’t see a thing!

Pre-Easter Fellowship on the Porch was well attended.. Several of the newest neighbors from Avenue D made it to the event along with friends. Mr. James, one of our official North side Opelika folks made the trip to our side of the tracks as well. The meet and greet which lasted to 10 or so (that’s a record) was wrapped up with our Marine, our neighbor that thinks we’d be better off under the rule of British and resident liberal in a discussion I thought would have surely end in gunfire. But everyone left as friends and it made for an interesting discussion.
