Family Roots Nursery & Garden Center, 983 Lee Road 158 just outside downtown Opelika, will host its first Autumn Acres Family Fest on Saturday, Oct. 10, The Observer reported. Admission is free. Festival activities run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the garden center and farm store will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Plans include a straw-bale maze, trailer tours of the 26-acre property, train rides, a bounce house, face painting, a balloon artist, cornhole and crafts, plus hot chocolate, apple cider and s’mores (donations welcome). About a dozen local vendors and makers are expected, with booth space provided free.

The nursery opened in fall 2024 and hopes to make Autumn Acres an annual event. Details and a full schedule will be posted on Family Roots’ website and social media.
