Democratic Congressional Nominee Lee McInnis Brings Town Hall to Opelika Library

OPELIKA — Aug. 27, 2026

Lee McInnis, the Democratic nominee for Alabama’s Third Congressional District, brought his town hall series to the Opelika Public Library, taking questions from residents on issues facing families across the district with the November general election roughly two months away.

“We are running an open, transparent, positive campaign,” McInnis said, according to coverage of the event. “We believe the best way for you to decide who to vote for in November is to have an open conversation with as many of the 720,000 people in the district we can talk to.”

The Third District covers Lee County and much of east Alabama. The Opelika Observer also covered the stop in its Aug. 25 edition.
