After Coffee and a Bear Claw at Red Door June with Buddy Redman I was on the road. Duck was ready on the dashboard and I had lots of low tech stuff for the trip. No Google Planned Trip, No Tom Tom, but instead a folded Georgia map from Rand McNally.
I’m not one for traveling the Interstate so it was off to Butler, Georgia; then a left turn to Thomason; and a right turn to Madison. I haven’t checked the mileage yet, but will and update this post.
I’m in Madison, GA, one of the South’s Lovelest Small Towns. It’s got the typical government building in the town square and traffic flows around it. But, unlike most towns, it’s the post office in the square and the Courthouse is tucked in a side corner.
I’m heading over to the Ice House for dinner and a cold beer after this post. It was the actual working Ice House when I attended elementary school for a year or so. Click this link for the flickr pictures that I’ve taken so far along the way.
Opps. The Ice House was closed so I went ot Madison’s Chop House Grill, which is Madison’s favorite no doubt. Then, I didn’t see a lot of the Chain Resturants in the area. That must make a difference. On to Savannah tomorrow.
