City Offices Close Due to Weather

Due to inclement weather, including icing of roads, bridges and car windshields, Mayor Gary Fuller has made the decision to shut down city buildings today – Tuesday, January 28th 11 a.m. so that city employees can drive safely home.

A decision will be made around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29th buildings will re-open on Wednesday – and, if they do, if they will open on time or be delayed in opening.

The City of Opelika is strongly urging our residents to STAY OFF OF THE ROADWAYS if you do not have to be out on them. There have already been a number of wrecks in the area, so STAY OFF THE ROADS if possible! (Source: City of Opelika)
