At the March 3rd, 2009 City Council Meeting, Mayor Gary Fuller introduced Mrs. Tipi Miller as the new Director of “Keep Opelika Beautiful”. She replaces Mrs. Shirley Flora who retired in December, 2008.Tipi was born and raised in Opelika. She graduated from Lee Scott Academy in 1997, and from Auburn University in 2001, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics. Her parents (Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Colley) own and operate the Opelika Animal Hospital. Tipi is an active member of the Opelika community. She was a member of the Inaugural Class of Opelika’s “20 under 40″ Initiative, is the Membership Director for the Opelika Rotary Club; a member of Alpha Delta Pi Alumni Group, Opelika Historic Preservation Society, and graduated from “Leadership Lee County” in 2008. She is an active member of First Baptist Church in Opelika. She is married to Wes Miller, a Landscape Supervisor at Auburn University who is pursuing his master’s degree in Agronomy & Soils.
As a former member of the Board of Directors of Keep Opelika Beautiful I have to say Thanks to Shirley Flora who established KOB ten years ago and built it into the program it’s become since then. I’m glad to share my excitement of Tippi’s appointment to the Director position to move forward with this great program.
