Citizen Planning Academy Graduates First Class

City of Opelika For just over a month, each Monday Night, a group has gathered at the Public Works Facility in the Meeting Room to learn about the things that go into planning in the City of Opelika.  A wide variety of folks were in the classes.  I don’t want to address too much in this post, as I may discuss this in next weeks article in the OA News.  The time was well spent. I’ve learned something each week, and when it comes around next year I think anyone concerned about Opelika’s growth should plan to attend.

A special little extra was to see the new City of Opelika Logo or Seal.  The city hasn’t formally announced it, but the theme and artwork are the very best and is a good representation of what Opelika is all about.  It was also on the coffee cups that each graduate got from the academy.  Thanks to the City of Opelika for a great idea.
