Auburn Holds 115-Play First Fall Scrimmage; Golesh Calls It ‘Sloppy on Both Sides’

August 14, 2026 — Auburn, AL

Auburn football held its first scrimmage of fall camp Friday at Jordan-Hare Stadium, running 115 plays in the Tigers’ most complete workout of the preseason. First-year head coach Alex Golesh was blunt afterward, describing the day as sloppy on both sides of the ball with three weeks left before the opener.

Michigan State transfer offensive lineman Stanton Ramil went the full session for the first time since being brought back from injury. ‘Since we brought (Ramil) back, he’s been on a snap count, and today, went the whole time,’ Golesh said. Running back Bryson Washington also worked through fatigue in the scrimmage. Safeties Kaleb Harris, Sylvester Smith-Reed and An’Quon Fegans, tight end Jonathan Echols and receiver Christian Neptune were held out; Golesh said Smith-Reed and Fegans should be available for the next scrimmage.
