Auburn High Flag Football Blanks Booker T. Washington 34-0 in Return to Duck Samford

Back at Duck Samford Stadium for the first time in nearly 10 months, the Auburn High School flag football team ran Booker T. Washington off the field 34-0 in a mercy-rule finish on Sept. 1.

The Lady Tigers (4-3) turned takeaways straight into points. After Booker T. Washington (1-2) picked off an Auburn pass early, Kaleah Palmer answered by stepping in front of a throw and returning it 51 yards for a pick-six with 7:50 left in the first quarter.

Alyssa Kate Jackson found Harper Wood for a 6-yard touchdown later in the quarter, with TeKaja Thomas adding the extra point on the ground for a 13-0 lead. Charlee Rhoten finished with two rushes for 17 yards and two touchdowns, and Thomas carried four times for 32 yards and a score.

Auburn’s defense set the tone before the offense found its rhythm, and the Lady Golden Eagles never recovered from the early deficit.
