Auburn Council Approves $2.4 Million in Abatements for INFAC and MOBIS Powertrain Projects

AUBURN โ€” The Auburn City Council approved a pair of manufacturing tax abatements at its Sept. 1 meeting tied to automotive electrification work in Auburn Technology Park West.

The council approved a $1.2 million abatement for INFAC North America and a $1.24 million abatement for MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, both at 2250 Riley St.

According to The Auburn Plainsman, INFAC North America purchased an existing facility in Auburn Technology Park West and plans to renovate it to manufacture automotive control power units for MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain. The MOBIS project is expected to bring about $22 million in investment.

The abatements come days after Seohan Auto USA announced a separate $64 million expansion in Auburn, underscoring how much of the metro’s industrial growth is now tied to the Hyundai-Kia supply chain.
