Auburn Approves ‘The Lexington’ Mixed-Use Development; Denies One Auburn Rezoning

July 21–23, 2026 — Auburn, AL

The Auburn City Council on Tuesday, July 22, approved a series of rezonings for a dense new mixed-use development called “The Lexington” in south Auburn. The project will be built on 1.15 acres near the intersection of South College Street and South Donahue Drive, featuring ground-floor retail and office space with 15 residential condominiums for sale on the upper floors.

In the same meeting, the council also approved rezonings for NEOS Church at 665 Opelika Road and an outdoor recreational use for Prosper at Plainsman at 1827 Kenai Pass. However, the council denied rezoning requests for the “One Auburn” expansion at 1750 Miracle Road — a separate proposal to expand an existing residential housing development that failed to gain council approval.
