AMS History for Another Labor Day Weekend

AMS LogoI had to pinch myself when I got up this morning. A weekend at the track in Atlanta and no rain. For me that is a first. Okay, we did get a rather brisk 20 minute storm midafternoon on Sunday, but it didn’t stop any of the festivities or the race. In fact, it was a beautifully clear evening for the night race with temperatures in the low 70′s, and that is perfect racing weather. This was my first Night Race in Atlanta and it is the way to go. It can get warm in those seats on a Hot Labor Day Weekend, as in the past, so I like it! Two Thumbs Up.  As a final goodbye, the AMS team had some free (yea, really, free) breakfast for anyone that stopped by the Ticket Center and Gift Shop. While there, I did confirm my order for next year and got a discount at the gift shop. I’ve got a great AMS garage pit shirt, which should look pretty good when I loose another 10 or 15 pounds.  Buying clothes to grow (uh Shrink) into to.   I’ll grab a picture when it fits. I did get one of those T-Shirts with no sleeves to show off the Tatto.  It’s a little snugg, but I like the no shirt sleeve feel. I am getting more Redneck every day.  Thanks to Ed Clark and his great staff for a weekend done right!

A nice two hour drive home, well south of the rain that covered Atlanta this morning and even though the camper isn’t really unhitched from the truck yet, I promise to do it and also empty the frig today and not two days before my next trip out in October.  I suspect, I’ll have some more Atlanta comments in coming days as I get ready for the October Dega Experience in the InField.
